Is teleportation possible?

I've always been fascinated with teleportation and people being able to teleport. I learned early on that teleportation is scientifically possible because everyone is made-up of atoms. So, has teleportation been achieved before? Or, will it be achieved in the near future?

I think some years ago I remember hearing about an atom being teleported in a lab. But, I think it will be some years before we will see full humans being teleported.
